How many more of these Joys are there in the forest? Are they faeries or something? Elves? Say what you will about Ash, but he got the Boulder Badge in Kanto by the 4th episode, and the Zephyr Badge in Johto by episode... 15. Shit.

Ash challenges an unofficial gym that claims to have the Most Powerful Pokemon Ever™ (bet). Anthony and his Pelipper seem to be an unstoppable duo as Treecko and Taillow are defeated by Vine Whip and Flamethrower, and Pikachu ends the battle in a draw with a double Thunderbolt attack from both sides of the field. Pikachu is surprisingly hurt from the one-hit wonder like its teammates, and they rush to yet another Pokemon Center before getting to Rustboro City!

After Ash's pokemon are fighting fit, May rushes to claim that something's wrong. Leading everyone to the lobby, every trainer off all ages are crying or upset. Not only were they defeated by Anthony's Pelipper, their pokemon were taken away! Turns out that Team Rocket found out about Anthony shoving pokeballs with his other pokemon in Pelipper's mouth, so they're blackmailing him. They're doing the battles with Pelipper in the actual clever guise of a gambling game: step right up to defeat Pelipper and you'll win any pokemon they have, but if you lose then you lose your pokemon too! As far as I'm concerned those trainers gambled their pokemon and got what they deserved!

Look at all dem suckas! No, don't even feel bad for the older woman with the leg cast!

Nurse Joy: "HEY, that's agaist the rules!!"
Ain't she just cute when she's mad? Wait 'til she finds out all those trainers GAMBLED their pokemon away!

Team Rocket honestly could've gotten away with it if they weren't so greedy in their pursuit. But also... why didn't they call Officer Jenny if it was "against the rules" as Joy said? 'Cause I guess Ash and friends gotta save the day I guess.
